Mason Jar Gift Ideas – FOR SWEETS AFICIONADOS ONLY!
If you are a terrible procrastinator like me, then you understand what is the desperate feeling of being pressed for time and having no gift prepared for someone (yet!). This is why I love mason jar gift ideas – they are awesome last-minute homemade gifts of food, that are never unappreciated!
Moreover, they are a great option for the “extra” people on your gift list who somehow tend to be overlooked (yep, until the last minute). Each sweet recipe can be presented inside a jar – just layer the dry ingredients, attach cooking instructions, a pretty ribbon and a holiday note to the recipient. That’s it! #7 Mason Jar Gift Ideas for Cape Code Blondies with Dried Cranberries and White Chocolate Chips
The products to put into the jar are:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- Pinch salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
You’ll need also:
- 8 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
To prepare this yummy dessert you need mixing: first all the wet ingredients in a large bowl, then add the content of the jar and mix thoroughly again. The “blondie” should be baked at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Don’t forget to grease the pan (you can always use bakery paper).
The full recipe you can find at SmittenKitchen.com.
# 8Â Sand Art BrowniesÂ
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
Mix thoroughly until ingredients are combined perfectly. Then pour into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. An easy trick to check if the dessert is ready is to insert a toothpick in the center of the brownie – if it comes out without any  moist crumbs, then it’s ready.
# 9Â Funfetti Cookie Mix in a Jar
This is a really quick recipe and one of my favorite mason jar gift ideas (I love M&M!). The ingredients for the jar are:
- 1 box Pillsbury Funfetti Cake MixÂ
- 1.5 cups Mini M&M’s
- 1-quart size Wide Mouth Mason Jar
Optional for a decoration you can buy 6 inch round paper doily ( or why not handmade textile crochet if it’s thin enough) and holiday-themed ribbon.
Carefully empty entire contents of the cookie mix into your quart-sized wide mouth Mason Jar. Follow the tips for layering gift in a jar ingredients. Pour in Mini M&M’s. Put the silver jar topper on top, place a doily on top, then screw on the jar’s lid. Wrap some fun ribbon around the silver lid.
The full recipe includes also 2 eggs and 1/2 cup Vegetable  Oil, which must be beaten together in a bowl. Pour in the content of the jar, and stir well with a spoon. Shape small rounded balls. Bake for approx. 8 – 9 minutes at 350 degrees.

 # 9 Marshmallow Muffins
What is better than a muffin? A chocolate muffin with a marshmallow surprise.:)
You’ll need to put in the 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar:
- 2 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ cup mini marshmallow
- ½ cup milk chocolate chips
Layer the dry ingredients in the jar as listed above starting with the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, sugar, marshmallows and then chocolate chips. Press firmly with a flat bottomed object after each layer. Secure the lid and decorate as desired. Attaching the instructions tag is the final step.
For the final yummy result, the recipient should add 1¼ cups milk, 5 tablespoons butter melted and just 1 egg (and some muffin paper cups that are the perfect additional gift item for this recipe in a jar). The oven should be preheated to 375. It’s so easy – wet ingredients (stirred together in a large bowl) should be mixed with the jar content. Each muffin cup should be filled with the muffin mixture two-thirds or it’s size. Baking takes 20-25 minutes. (use the same trick with the toothpick). The great thing is that once prepared, muffins can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

#10Â Gluten-Free Cookies
Great Mason jar gifts idea for your gluten-free friends. This unconventional cookie recipe shows people how easy it can be to eat the gluten-free delicacy. The ingredients for this high-protein recipe are organic and as follows:
- 1 16 ounces mason jar for dry ingredients)
- 1 4 ounce mason jar (for wet ingredients)
- 1 ¼ cups blanched almond flour
- ¼ teaspoon celtic sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup chocolate chunks
- ¼ cup grapeseed oil
- ¼ cup agave nectar
- 1 teaspoon organic vanilla extract
- For the decoration:
- 1 small tag
- 1 piece of ribbon
You’ve already known the procedure. It’s quite the same: place the dry ingredients in the 16-ounce mason jar ending with chocolate chips on top. The 4-ounce mason jar is for the wet ingredients (I like it! It’s making the things even simpler for your recipient!). Place the tag with baking instructions and tie a ribbon.
For the final result just mix the wet and dry ingredients in separate bowls.  Then mix well both to combine. Roll small cookies (with hands) and place them on a parchment paper. To shape the cookies, press the balls to flatten. Bake at 350° for 7-10 minutes and let them cool for 20 minutes before serving. Crunchy gluten-free cookies – healthy and also perfect for children! Can’t-miss this recipe!
